The Cuban wrap is the best by far . Quality has slightly decreased but still worth the price . Also great selection of authentic Hispanic sodas ex. Jupina & iron beer . Service depends on the day but regardless convenient but sunset and inexpensive

Was forced to go since Larios is now closed :( I was needing my cuban coffee and as I approached Larios I noticed it was now closed permanently. Why dear lord?! Why?!?!?! Any how, I turned to my trusty Yelp app quickly on search of keyword "cuban" to fulfill my cortadito and croquetta breakfast craving. Sorted by "distance" Mojito Grill was the first to pop up. Seeing the overall ratings I decided to give it a try. As we entered we saw a run down restaurant with questionable sanitation. We proceeded to look at the menu and noticed they had breakfast specials and went for that. For $3.50 you get 2 eggs of your choice, toast and potatoes or grits. I figured what did we have to loose? A lot that was! A horrible start to my Saturday with a horrible breakfast. I ordered scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, potatoes and toast and asked additionally for a cortadito (because I just need my cuban coffee in the morning!) first my eggs were extremely under cooked and had pieces of the egg shell in it, ewwwww! It was like chunky crunchy egg soup. My toast barely had butter and cortadito was cold and more like just cold milk.... Barely noticing there was coffee in it. We took our order to go after our first bite we threw the entire thing away and as I write this review my tummy is hungry and missing its breakfast. How can you claim to be a cuban establishment and get something so simple horribly wrong?

Eek. Not great. We came in at a very slow time, so I can't blame the food quality on them being rushed. I ordered a pan con bistec, which was very tasty and quick, but I tried my friend's 'cheeseburger' and was very confused. First off, the burger was put on the same long cuban bread as my sandwich.... this meant that there was a hamburger patty in the middle surrounded by a ton of plain rectangular-shaped bread. Another friend ordered their Cuban Bowl, which consists of rice, beans, grilles steak, and plantains. We were all surprised when he opened the container to see one tiny shriveled up plantain. Luckily, they gave him another plantain when he asked about it, but it was very odd considering he had made a point to ask and make sure the dish came with plantains. The bigger issue to me is the condition of the restaurant. We're talking dirty, falling-off ceiling tiles, filthy AC vents (which didn't seem to be working very well- it was sweltering inside!), and an overall dingy interior. This is basic stuff that has just been left to get dirty and stayed that way- doesn't build confidence in the food.... This place is in need of a serious cleaning and some TLC and though their signature pan con bistec was very flavorful, this does not make up for the rest of the food/cleanliness/heat of the location.

Favorite pan con bistec in Miami!!! So juicy and tasty! Always come here when I am craving a pan con bistec. I could eat this everyday forever. Their Cuban wrap is also amazing! It comes with rice beans plantains and your choice of chicken or steak in a wrap.

Our Cuban sandwiches were well below par. The ingredients were cheap and generic, without real roast pork or any semblance of flavor. Considering the location was not clean and the service was generally annoyed with our presence, I'd highly recommending skipping this place at all costs.

I live fairly close and this is usually my go to for Cuban food if I'm lazy. Of all the places in Miami to get Cuban food, this is not among the best. Although the food is good, the people who work here are rude and service is slow, even when the restaurant isn't busy. This place is also dirty and often quite hot inside. They used to have a great delivery service that was very convenient, but I recently tried to order delivery and was told the wait time would be an hour and a half! Definitely would not recommend if you can go to other, much better Cuban restaurants in Miami.

  • Vanessa V.

Is this the fanciest restaurant in south miami? No, but it sure doesn't matter. Don't expect more than a couple bar stools and a few more tables outside. One of my favorite spots for a Cuban fix, it's a fab pick for takeout (best pan con bistec in town!) or even a quick coffee break. Can you say cortadito??? The only problem - location - they don't have one closer to me!

    (5)
  • Stacy G.

Their delivery is very fast and they have delicious food at a very affordable price! I strongly recommend their Cuban wrap.

  • Francisco S.

A Cuban cafeteria like many others, however this place has kept it real, aside from being in an expensive neighborhood. Definitely have some signature items like their wraps with plantains. Croquetas are great as well. Best and cheapest coffee in South Miami.

Great food but the place is a disaster. It's complete chaos during rush hour. There's no line, everyone shouts their orders, and the employees don't seem to write things down so they make you repeat yourself a few times. Also, most of them don't speak and barely understand English. *Edit* Their sandwiches are pre-made. Also, the young girl helping me has had to verify my order four times already. It really isn't difficult. Croqueta preparada no pickles or pork. Well, they can't remove the pork from the sandwich, but they can add pickles and mustard. Which makes no sense. How can you not peel off a slice of freaking pork off a slice of freaking bread. Absolutely ridiculous. So I've been sitting here for about twenty minutes waiting on a pre-made sandwich that this young girl can't quite seem to figure out, even though it's really very simple. I suggest management either hires people who have more than way below average intelligence and speak English, or they set up a POS system so their employees can get food out way faster without having to ask the customers five times what the f*ck they want.

This is my office's go to location for lunch. The delivery is fast and FREE!!! They have a new meal each day and the portions are huge. You could easily feed two people. They have great prices as well. Mojito Grill never disappoints!

  • Nano M.

Awesome little restaurant in a great part of Miami. Quick and easy and the pan con bistec never disappoints. Everyone was very friendly and awesome environment. Definitely recommend!

Came here before and received subpar service and mediocre food. On the insistence of my better half who was craving a croquette sandwich, I returned only to have an even more aggravating experience. Waited 20 minutes as the only customer standing at the counter. All 3 employees busied themselves doing anything but assisting me. When another customer came in and immediately got their attention, it was time to move on to a place more deserving of my business. Never again!

I liked the rice beans and steak. The service was good, and It was fast and cheap;) I was a bit hungry an hour later.

I stopped a few weeks ago for a cuban wrap. I specifically asked for no onions 3 times but sure enough when I bit into it, there were plenty of onions. I decided to go back this morning because I was really craving a guava pastry. I get there and there are 12 guava pastries, I politely ask for 1. As I'm paying for it, they get a call order for a dozen guava pastries and the girl turns and says "oh I can't sell you the 1 because I have an order for 12 and I need that one to complete the order." Seriously??!! I was livid. It is safe to say I will never ever be returning to Mojito Grill. You are way better off going to Larios around the corner where the service is 100 times better than mojitos

I come here all the time!!!! My wife is pregnant right now and is always craving there tostada and cafe con leche for breakfast. I LOVE there breakfast sandwich which includes breakfast potatoes. One time I got there just as they were starting lunch and I got French fries with my sandwich, fun surprise! The staff is great, they recognize me by now and always ask how I am doing. Great "Mom and pop" feel to it. And for lunch there Cuban wrap is awesome. Chicken or steak, rice and beans, and platanitos in side a wrap, so good!!!! Love this place.

  • Katie C.

Huge portions and delicious! They deliver for lunch. We order quite often since there aren't too many restaurants in south Miami that do.

    (5)
  • Sam M.

Used to come here often, I love the Cuban wrap it's great. This afternoon however, the staff sort of ruined the experience. The girl who rolled my Cuban wrap put very little effort into making it into a burrito shape and sort of just folded up the corners and shoved it together. Impossible to eat as a wrap and ruined my evening. When It's done properly though it's incredible

Where can you get affordable and delicious Cuban food fast? Mojito Grill that's where! I love this place, it's a hole in the wall but don't let it's appearance fool you. The food is great. They have daily specials and deliver till around 5pm. In my opinion their Pan con Bistec & Pan con Pollo is the BESTTT! SO YUMMY! It's not your healthiest choice, but man it's so good I could care less. The Cuban Wrap is also delicious with maduros, rice, beans, etc; Staff can be tough sometimes, but the food is too good to not return.

    (4)
  • Nisha C.

I only order one thing every time I come here -- The Cuban Wrap. It's definitely one of the best wraps I've ever had, filled with grilled chicken, maduros, rice and black beans. The Cuban coffee looks amazing as well! For $ 7.99, it's definitely worth it-- very filling and satisfying. The service here is great and friendly. I highly recommend Mojitos for any one who wants to get a pretty quick and delicious Cuban meal!

cuban wrap is to die for. order from here several times a week and they always produce great results.

  • Martha W.

Best casual Cuban spot around UM. The place may not have the best aesthetics but the food is good quality. I order from here very often and have never once had a bad meal! The portions are always very big and filling. The dinner platters and Cuban wraps are favorites. Sometimes they are understaffed and it may take a little longer than they say but it's still relatively fast. They deliver quickly too. One woman that works there doesn't always understand what you say if you speak English but that's the biggest con I can think of.

    (4)
  • Mike N.

Eh, I wouldn't go out of my way for it. I had the infamous pan con bistec. It wasn't that special. If I went back I'd try the regular Cuban sandwich.

Quick Cuban spot. Have the "pan con bistec" (steak sandwich).

3.5 - I cant believe I haven't reviewed it yet!! I actually grabbed lunch here the other day and it was really funny because I ordered the "Make it yourself" wrap and asked them to put everything on it BUT meat... I swear the entire staff looked perplexed as hell, and asked me a million times if I was sure... this didn't annoy, instead it amused me. It reminded me of the scene from "My big Fat Greek Wedding"... that's how you know this place is legit Hispanic, when they're all confused as to why you wont have meat. Totally mom and pop joint. The staff has an entire wall dedicated to pictures of them, you can tell they're like a big family, and that they take pride in their business. This place is great for Take Out of a quick lunch pick up because its a tiny hole in the wall type place and the sitting outside is very limited. They have really good daily specials, which usually include arroz y frijoles and plantains. One of my favorite things is their Pita Special, its absolutely delicious. The prices are pretty decent. Definitely one of the better, quicker lunch options in South Miami. If you are in the mood for good flavorful food this is your place.

I can't believe I've never been here. 10+ years in South Miami, and I went for the first time two weeks ago. And it's fantastic. First of all - Cuban Food in South Miami. Let's say that again. Cuban Food in South Miami. Ok, now that's out of the way, let's get to details. The menu isn't very broad, but it's got all the major entrees. Add to that an owner who's there most of the time, and you have a well-oiled "pan-con-bistec" type of atmosphere. Prices are great, and service is lightning fast. That 5th star, however, is reserved for their first English-speaking hire - I speak Spanish, but I absolutely hate to be addressed in Spanish first.

  • Jordan N.

If you like pan con bistec, this is a good place to go to in South Miami. You can pick your fillings - Subway style - as well. They cook the meat on site, and press the bread after making the sandwich to your tastes. One of my relative complained that the meat didn't have much flavor. But really, I thought it was good - the meat for pan con bistec tends to be thin, so there's not much flavor to begin with anyways. It's in the fillings. Cheap and generic establishment - nothing special, really. Good enough for the locals, but I wouldn't recommend it for tourists in town for only a few days. This place just offers good, quick, affordable Cuban sandwich bites - with Cuban coffee to boot!

  • Daniel C.

Mojito is a good place. The theme is Cuba, totally Cuba. From the staff to the decor to the menu. I recommend the Churrasco, I have had it 3 times now and they always cook it just how I ask. One of my favorite things is you get to pick your sides. They have a wide variety of choices. Of course many of the traditional items are available, rice and beans, platanos etc. They also offer more American sides like mashed potatoes. If you are at Dolphin mall and hungry this is the way to go. Good food and good, fast service.

Good value and very large portion sizes. Friendly staff/owner.

Huge plate of food for $8. The beans needed a little bit more loving, but vaca frita con mojo was delicious.

  • Ravi B.

South Miami's requisite Cuban hole in the wall restaurant. I do not really eat here - I only eat Cuban when I have to host out of town guests who want that 'Cuban experience' and that usually means Versailles or Larios. The food I have tried here though is very good and the portions are huge, especially the sandwiches. I usually come here for coffee and it is good, but beware: pay with exact change! Or, you will be waiting...and waiting...and waiting...

Mojito Mojito! Love ur steak sandwich - make my way from Kendall just to have one :). Plenty of daily specials for lunch. Parking can be a b*tch thou, try to go before noon or after 2pm.

  • Jorge G.

By far the best steak sandwich (Pan Con Bistec) in town. No other restaurant compares, great tasting steak full of flavor, and the bread is as Cuban as it gets. The Pan Con Pollo (Chicken Sandwich) is amazing as well, all the great things you get in a traditional Pan Con Bistec, but with Chicken! Also they have a cool creation called a Cuban Wrap that has rice beans and plantains all mixed up and put in a wrap with chicken or steak, its great and filling, and their cuban coffee is great, those people know how to make a cuban waker-upper, and great fast and friendly service, perfect for when you're in a hurry, you can even call your order in ahead of time and it will be ready when you get there. Definitely recommend this place, and worth all five stars!

  • cristina o.

I lived off this place when I was an undergrad at um. They have a very limited menu but they make everything delicious. I love their Cuban wrap with rice, beans & platanitos. They also make a very good Cuban chicken sandwich. I believe they deliver but you can take out relatively quickly. You can't really eat there though.

    (4)
  • Ronnie F.

Two items make this place: pan con bistec and pan con pollo. These are spanish for steak sandwich and chicken sandwich, respectively. All other menu items are great but pale in comparison to those two. At Mojito, you don't get cheapened versions of the classic Cuban favorites; the pan con bistec and pollo come with huge servings of meat and fresh vegetables. Highly recommended!!!!

I can't believe I have never reviewed this place! I was standing at the counter at Mojito Grill just about 5 minutes ago when I thought "I wonder if I have reviewed it?" I came back, checked, and nope, I never had written a review...shame on me! I've been coming here for years, since they opened actually, the least I can do is write a review for them! This is my go to spot for Cuban coffee by work. A colada here is $1 where as in other restaurants near by it is much higher. In my opinion, the coffee here is MUCH better than in nearby places anyway. I'm about to get jacked up on two coladas that I brought back to work....no worries, both aren't for me. I do share :) The restaurant is a hole in the wall and there is barely any counter space to eat at indoors, but that's probably okay because you'll"ll come out smelling like an abuela's house anyway. There are a few tables outside to eat at, and that's a-ok by me. Honestly, I almost always do take-out or delivery from Mojito Grill. The food is good and their Pan Con Bistec sandwich is the BEST in town...no lie...and it's HUGE...easily shared by two people for a lunch portion, which is what I usually do. For $5.95, you can't beat that. I mean, you probably can, but not for the same quality. Their Pan Con Pollo is also delicious and also just $5.95. A lot of my co-workers are obsessed with the Cuban wrap which is a tortilla filled with steak or chicken, rice, beans, and maduros (fried, sweet, plantains), but for me, that is just way too much going on in one mouthful. It does look good though! I'm just not into that so I've never tried it. I am also a huge fan of their bistec empanizado. Its huge, not too bready, and reminds me of the one that my grandmother makes and that is a GREAT thing...if you've read my profile, you know that is what I would choose as my last meal ;)

    (4)
  • Ana O.

This place is the BEST in South Miami! Authentic Cuban meals....fast! You can call your order in and pick it up. Don't know it they deliver but I believe they do! I recommend the "complete wrap". Are you ready for this??????? A flour tortilla wrap with your choice of chicken or steak mixed with white rice and beans and fried plantains!!!!! Good stuff! The cafecito ain't bad either. Because this place is small, you leave with eau de Mojito! Your clothes will reek of food but there are worse things to reek of in this world! Order take out for a night that you're in the mood to NOT cook and want something like abuela used to make!

If I know that I'm crossing the bridge off the beach & headed into South Miami, I don't eat that day. My mandatory destination at some point in the trip is Mojito Grill. I just have a fondness for it that makes me feel protected and loved. Granted I don't eat meat & the bistec sandwiches look delicious. I always stick with the tried & true Veggie Cuban Wrap. It's rice beans platanos maduros in a wrap. Sometimes I ask to go all Chicken Kitchen on it and add lettuce and tomatoes. But that and a Materva, I feel all is ok with the world.

  • David C.

Great little spot to get a quick Cuban style meal and/or wrap. I had a pan con bistec (steak sandwich) and I must say it hit the spot. Second time around I had one of their famous wraps and that's like a full Cuban meal wrapped together. It has rice, beans, plantains, and steak. It's a mammoth portion so bring a friend. Good job Mojito Grill, keep doing what you're doing !

A local Cuban sandwich shop. Food is pretty good and it's located near Sunset Place. Not a bad place to stop in for a sandwich on your lunch break or before a movie, although the walk over the Sunset Place is a bit much for those who do not like to walk (nothing too bad, though). Others have mentioned the wall of photos which you can check out while you're waiting for your order. Service is pretty fast, though.

Loved the cuban coffee and the rice & beans wrap. Super cheap and super tasty. Though my coworkers and I did feel like taking a nap about 30 minutes after eating it....

One of my favorite places for an afternoon cafe ($.50) when I'm in the area (or just a short detour away). The pan con bistec and pan con bistec de pollo are both solid lunch options (about $5 I think). I've never had anything more substantial, though the specials, which seem to rotate by days of the week, always look tasty. Usually friendly service too.

    (4)
  • Rob C.

kind of like a local's Cuban Subway. 5.75 for pan con bistec or pollo, lots of young people come here, fast service, large portion, tangy flavor, have the small potato bits inside the sandwich.

Service in the South Miami location is absolutely Horrible! They Don't care how long you have been waiting. Used to go there 3 times a week for cafecito, but it's gotten out of control bad. The food is greasy, has never been that good, add the bad service, and it becomes an all around negative experience. It's run by a sort of "mafia" employees, their excuse is that someone is on the phone when you are ready to pay the bill. Frankly Don't understand how it survives. Will never go again. Larios down the street is so much better

    (1)
  • Yay P.

Good Cuban food served fast (kind of). The Cuban wrap with steak is delicious AND HUGE. It's basically a full traditional Cuban dinner plate stuffed into a wrap. Mojito Grill is great for lunches To-Go; especially for South Miami, a location devoid of good, inexpensive Cuban food. I'm looking at you Casa Larios.

    (3)
  • Laura C.

I love this place and the food is fantastic! I've tried the Cuban wrap, the pan con bistec and the pan con pollo. I love all three though the pan con bistec was a bit chewy, I can't complain that much, it was seasoned so well and I couldn't stop eating it! I love how fast they have my food ready and since I work nearby I can't be gone for too long which makes this place perfect for fast Cuban food that is cheap and tastes great!! It can be a bit crowded there die to its popularity but other than that I love it and I will continue going to mojito grill when I get my Cuban food cravings!

  • Antonio U.

fast, affordable, and absolutely DELICIOUS! Pan con bistec is the best food you can get for under $10, and goes beyond satisfying your hispanic food cravings.

I'm guessing I went on an off day, or maybe I'm spoiled by it's neighbor. Whatever the case, my experience at Mojito's was nowheree near to what I see other Yelpers have written about this place. Yeah, it's low priced and moderately fast but the food wasn't that tasty. As a good engineer, I ordered my "control group" dish. The chicken piece was a little on the small side and tasted greasy. Onions seemed burnt. The moros was served separately as black beans and rice. Seasoning was lacking by my standards, Ordering is a little messy, I think. You place your order and then wait to pay. It would be a little smoother if they did like a lot of delis and have a ticket system. Just my $0.02.

So I stopped in here specifically for the carne con papas tuesday special...pero no tienen. En lugar ellos tienen picadillo...so I went with the pan con bistec. Nothing special...the meat was dry and they were stingy with the potato sticks and onions. From now on I will stick to buying my pan con bistecs on 8th st.

This place is going to recognize my face soon. I come here about once a week when I don't feel like cooking. This is authentic Cuban food and it's ready in a flash (I'll order ahead and it's ready for pick up in less than10 minutes). I love the Pan con Bistec and they're Cuban wrap is also delicious. The staff is also really friendly. I watched as one of the staff happily picked out potatoes from the beans at a customer's request... Impressive.

Have had lunch delivered from this place two times and has been perfect. Great latin food. Perfect lunch food, not very 'diet' food, but good lunch food. Rice was perfect, maduros were addictive and chicken was very well cooked. Beans were out of this world too. Very well recommended. The only downside is, they don't have any healthier choices.

What can I say??? I LOVE MOJITO... Everything about it. A "typical" Cuban restaurant in a not so typical Cuban restaurant area !!! YUMMY---THEIR breakfasts!!! And their cafesitos...And they have actually managed to keep their prices reasonable in a very non reasonable, (rent wise), strip mall... It's a homey place...Where everybody knows your name... And a tostada is available even AFTER breakfast... LOVE IT !!!!

    (5)
  • Javi V.

Excellent food, terrible staff; my coworkers and I have been here 3 times and Everytime the lady with the light eyes acts like its an inconvenience to her to take our order. Takes ALL of our orders wrong today then rolls her eyes like she's convulsing when we tell her to rectify it. Needless to say her tip that day was to drop the attitude or be left with 50 dollars worth of food under the hot lamp or the garbage. Such a shame too but I can see why they've lost so many customers to the other cafe one shop down on the strip mall...

    (1)
  • Elena M.

SO GOOD. I always get the Cuban wrap with chicken. It's filling but not greasy. Fast food meets home cooking. If you're not hungry, at least get a cafe con leche - it's excellent.

This restaurant gets a 4-Star for the "Cuban Bowl" alone. I love the combo of rice, beans, chicken & plantains. You can choose to substitute the chicken with steak, I don't eat steak. I have never had anything else from here. We began ordering their food for delivery at work like two weeks ago. I have only physically gone here once. What I can say is that their delivery service is fast. It was kind of hectic when I went in there last week but I noticed that they sell Jupina soda & any place that sells Jupina is good with me.

    (4)
  • Rose D.

I wasn't impress with the Cuban sandwich. The pork and ham was cold cut slices and they put way too much cheese and mayo. It wasn't great at all. I had better. However the Cuban Bowl is very good.
